We are big COOP fans, esp since the market st one opened. we went may 7 to the skyport one with a groupon. Everything was way too salty. the chicken shrimp pasta, the goat cheese fondue, my french dip, the french fries. my son had a burger, and i didin't ask him. at 16 i don't know if he knows what salty is! but what was disappointing was my son went to the register to tell them that his parents birthday is today (it is) , expecting them to offer a candle in the fondue , or whatever. both of the women at the register said nothing, just have him an annoyed look. he walked away. if it is their policy to not acknowledge birthdays, SAY SO!! TACKY. REALLY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. they seem to need a little more training in customer service. he was repeating what we have done for him on his b-day.

Wow I haven't reviewed this place yet? Well to start off, this place is a great place to have a nice lunch get together with someone special located in sweet and funky San Pedro Square. If it's a nice day out (which it usually is in San Jose) try the outdoor seating! The atmosphere is a really nice one to sit, eat and have a conversation. The servings here are pretty big so if you are here for your first time I recommend coming with a friend and splitting two different things. There is such a great selection of pizza, sandwiches, salads, pasta, and chicken! Tip: PLEASE save room for dessert. I've been here a couple times with a group of people and we ordered nothing but desserts - the Banana Phyllo, Tiramisu and Fondue Platter are my favorites!! Worth a try! One of my favorite Downtown San Jose stops.

Decent food, service is okay but nothing over the top, and fairly fast. We've come here more than once and never experienced anything terrible but nothing over the top either. Most of the crew is friendly but we've never felt as if they really cared that we stopped by again. The stars are mainly for the food quality verses service.

I dropped by here while visiting Santa Clara for business for dinner. I stopped by primarily because of convenience and proximity to where I was at the time. The restaurant seems good overall. This location apparently had two choices - order at the cash register or sit in the bar area and order from your table (or the bar). The latter was not apparent until after I had ordered. It's light on ambiance, being basically a big open area with tables, a soda fountain, a bar off in one corner and lots of glass looking out at the street and other shops. Almost a quasi-warehouse/industrial feel. Not a negative, just an observation. So, don't go here for ambiance. :) They had Oktoberfest specials, and I took them up on it, ordering their Beef Remoulade, which was a piece of beef rolled around pickle and covered in a sauce. While the flavor was good, it was somewhat lacking and overall it was a little dry/overcooked, so the texture not very good. I would probably give it another try if someone else wanted to go, but I will probably not being go back there otherwise.

Horrible Customer Service!!! I've been to SCC Skyport for many gatherings and weekday lunches so this wasn't the first time I've been here but because of how we were treated on 1/5/12, it will probably be the last...We had a small private party for 20 people and reserved the small room downstairs at 3pm for a little privacy. SCC also booked a party for the room before ours. Not a big deal as we waited patiently for an hour for the room to open. However, as soon as the party cleared out...we were rushed into the room and given an hour and a half limit so that SCC could clean and set-up the room for another party after ours! An hour into our party the site Manager came in and started giving us a countdown. It was extremely rude and unprofessional as if it was our party's fault for having our gathering there. Similar to another Yelper who had a party there, we also felt 'Unwelcomed'. If SCC's mission is to 'Get in, Get out and have a horrible experience' then they did their job...but have lost a Customer.

Great place for meal before or after a flight. It's more in a business park area so there's a lot of people for lunch. My favorite is the chicken with lemon vinaigrette, side of pesto pasta is a generous side, it's a half plate full. it comes with bread too. I haven't tried everything. I don't remember anything else that stands out. there was a special with steak that my friend tried and that was yummy. for desserts, i prefer the chocolate fondue, if you still have room =]

When I found out there was entertainemnt thursday night my friend and i went over (after our airport duty, we are volunteers) We then asked the bartender if happy Hour was on, he said yes, we ordered drinks and appetizers..Cheese stcks?) they were served on toasts slices which were burned!! we returned them he then suggested foundue (which was not on the bar menu) 9.99!! gor what? a very few thinly sliced apples, wedge potatoes already seasoned. candied pecans, and a cup of goat cheese topped with haved cherry tomatoes!!! definetely not a fondue!! also an extra 1.00 was added to my drink!! for what? the bartender coudln't careless about our order!! the server who brought us the food didn't bring forks, we had to ask for them!! a shame as the K.J. was excellent and even offered us requests..Guess I'll have to look elsewhere for music!! very disappointing.. However the staff in the dining room is pleasant.. I felt totally ripped off...

If you like food that looks and tastes like Joe Dirt's afterthoughts after a wild night out, you're in luck! This is the place for you. I don't really understand the "foccacia" on the side, mainly because it's not foccacia but a pizza slice. Usually, I'd say "yay, free pizza slice!" but it tastes like the warming lamp. The food is sterile and bland, and the times I have eaten here, my stomach turns sour later in the day. This place clearly does well without my ill review, as I see most people enjoy SCC.. guess it just isn't for me.

How I subjected myself to the industrial horrors of this place I don't know. Yuck, yuck and more yuck. Industrial strength, cafeteria style entrees, salads and pizza served up by harried and morose staff. And they use buzzers here (a la TGI Friday's). The use of a table buzzer alone should have made me turn a 180. But I relented...obviously a glutton for punishment. I ordered the Shrimp and Avocado salad. The shrimp looked like they'd be better off standing in a welfare line or street corner begging for change that waiting on my plate in a vain attempt to appease my demanding palate. I actually felt sorrow for the poor shriveled crustaceans. Plate was served with Focacia. * Buzzer Vibrates * ... The Captain approaches the pickup counter... Captain: "This 'Focacia' looks suspiciously like a slice of day old cheese pizza." Haggard Old Motel Lobby looking Lady: "That's our bread...it's what we serve". Captain: "It's unsold pizza, not bread" Old Lady: "No - it's bread...(with apathetic shrug)" Captain: "It's pizza - take it away please...." 2 stars only because they served my meal in under 10 minutes. And I was hungry. Also the Avocado were just the right amount of ripe. I ate the avocado, a couple of slimy, vinegarette soaked lettuce pieces, and then high-tailed it to Vito's next door.

Tried this location (actually, first visit to this chain) due to a LivingSocial deal... would not return. Staff seemed bored, not really interested in how the customer's experience was. Don't know if there was a manager there, but I didn't see anyone stopping by tables to check in. Food: Sirloin steak was overcooked on first attempt and had some kind of gravy on it (advertised as " red wine sauce" (maybe I didn't read the menu carefully enough?))- better the second try but not worth the $14 price. Lime grilled chicken was OK but slightly dry- rice and veggies so-so. I ordered a cup of soup and that was a bust (sausage/lentil)- tiny serving for $4 and just not really great; lacked flavor and body. Best items received were the grilled artichoke and side salad- artichoke was really good; salad was a good deal for the price. Overall, most food was not hot enough. Had it not been for the LS deal, I would have felt cheated. I did get two lunches for work next week out of the leftovers, however, so all was not lost. Sorry not be able to give this place a better rating...

I had to pick up a friend from the SJC airport and thought I would give this place a try based upon the reviews on yelp. I'm disappointed I paid for a dried up piece of BBQ chicken and the side dishes were forgettable. It was a disappointment. Reminded me of cafeteria fast food. I will not return.

Came here with a group of 7 for some grub before heading over to the "Christmas in Park" exhibit. Environment: so -so, not fast food, semi-self-service. food: $10 for a chicken cobb salad, not as large as I'd expected for a $10 salad, but not too bad either. I think I might drop by again if in the neighborhood.

Wasn't too hungry so had calamari and the 9.99 salad with the Asian dressing. Perfect! Calamari was best I've had around and salad was good sized with right amount of dressing. Would love to come back and try other stuff.

When I write my reviews, I wait a while because I want my body and mind to distill the experience down to the baresbones. Everytime I go it's always "Ok" to me. It's not like OMG amazing. I will say I remember the calamari- that was fantastic. My dish was okay but I've had better for the price. My manager destroyed his hot sandwich, I don't think he looked up to converse with us at all. Service: You're kidding? You serve yourself. Ambiance: It's nice and good or a large or small party.

Chicken and Prawn Picatta is yummy -perhaps because of all the buttery goodness in the rosemary rice.....had that for lunch today and man, was it filling. Sonoma is always convenient...easy to reach for pick up orders, and so far they haven't messed up mine and my co-worker's orders just yet. Portions: usually good for 2 meals...esp the pastas. Oh. the Banana Phyllo Sundae is goood! especially with coffee!

Ordered a grilled artichoke and the chicken Marsala. Absolute terrible. The order took 25 min and when I went to check on it the artichoke had been setting there for what seemed to be a long time. Then when I sat sat down to eat it I took it back. It was dry and gross. I had the plate for about 3 min and I took it to the girl who gave it to me and said, " you can have that". She said thanks and dumped it in the trash without caring as to why I haven't touched it. The Marsala finally came out and it tasted like absolute crap. Won't be back. Please skipped it.

Food is good, staff is awesome. It's cheap, fast, and is perfect for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. Their happy hour is really great as well! If you live in the area, it's a go-to place for some good cheap food, and some alcohol. -1 Star due to the live performances they have, I just want to eat my food without hearing loud singing or instruments blasting my ear drums.

Came here with my family a couple weeks ago and have to give them credit for getting 15 orders done in a timely matter. Garlic chicken Alfredo was a bust though. Super bland and I should have just ordered one of the side pasta. No one was super impressed with their order besides my dad. He got the chicken with rice. Would go back but just order something either than pasta.

Sonoma Chicken, for those who don't know, is one of those places like Sizzler where you order at the counter first, then get your food and bring it to your table after. So with that in mind, I rated accordingly. This particular location of Sonoma Chicken beats out the others I've tried. Definitely try the weekly specials, since I feel like these are done way better than the regular menu items, and the other Sonoma locations don't have a lot of these specials. Also, it seems like the cooks are better here than at the other locations. (I did once have an amazing steak at the Capitol location though. Go figure.) There's plenty of seating, food usually comes out quickly, and the location is kept clean. Ambience is decent (lighting is really awkward at dusk), although the bar area is pretty nice. So overall, not a bad experience. It's sit-down-restaurant Lite, but better than its brethren.

DELICIOUS!!! Great check-in deals. Paint night so fun!!! Salmon and mushroom risotto was the special that night. Very very delicious. Probably the best real risotto I've ever had in a restaurant. Tried some of the rotisserie chicken as well. Mouth watering good. Looking forward to my next visit. Perfect for kids!!

The wait was terrible! Order a half portion of calamari and an order of lobster mac and cheese. Got our buzzer and sat down. 25 mins went by and nothing. Decided to see what was taking so long so I went to the counter and saw my food. It has been sitting there. When I got there the person gave me my food. Not once even bothering to buzz me. Calamari - always get a full! For a buck or two more, you definitely get a lot more. Ours was not hot so it did not taste as good. Probably because they didn't buzz us. Lobster mac and cheese - not hot either. It was luke warm. Pretty that they added a full lobster tail but that's the only lobster you get. They add imitation crab to the Mac and cheese. I was not impressed. Definitely not coming back!

Solid Drinks, Solid Food, Casual Ambience = Great Meet-Up Joint SITREP My buddy Lance was celebrating his local birthday shindig here (hella convenient for him & wife Carrie since they live merely walking blocks away). THE SETUP Coming from out-of-town, it was easy to find via GPS and the parking was very easy as well. The place is spacious with upstairs and downstairs dining options. What I like about this place is that it is an order-first counter, and then you find your tables. When your number is called, your little plast square lights up and you go grab your food. The Bar stands towards the back - where we were actually seated - and so there is no bottle-neck of congestion as there is, for example, at Burgers N' Brew in Sacramento. THE FOOD Absolutely hearty and delicious! We shared: * Clam Chowders * Caesar Salads * Steak & Prawns dinners * Fish & Chips dinners * Basket of Fries * Etc. etc. PRICES, SINGLE BILLS & NO TIP HEADACHES The prices are as reasonable as you would find at any Outback, BJs, etc., style of sit-down place, BUT without the hassle of one large bill - since we ordered at the counter, everyone paid for themselves, and no one gets stiffed with paying for more than is their fair share. In addition, there isn't the hassle of trying to figure out a tip since we ordered, picked-up and brought back the food ourselves. THE LOWDOWN If you prefer to be waited on hand & foot, than this place is NOT for you. But if you like great food without having to deal with all the embedded server-tips on parties of 6 or more, breaking-down-bills-for-individuals-per-order, nor getting-stiffed-by-others-crap, than this place is for you! ;)

I love the semi casual ordering . Walk in and choose from great selections which is hard since everything not only sounds good on the menu but looks great as well Salmon was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Artichokes were great for me but probably not for everyone one. Would return till I tried everything on the menu.

Grumpy a$$ bartender in the afternoon and warm beer glasses. 'nuff said. The service at the food counter is very good, kind and polite. Unlike the grumpy bartender. The quality of the food is cafeteria quality. First time we came here, it was good. Second time around, mediocre. Will do in a pinch, probably better for lunch. We're done as far as dinner goes.

For the main course, my boyfriend and I had the seafood paella, which was surprisingly delicious. It cost around $14. The only thing was it came to us piping hot so I would highly recommend letting it cool down before you take a bite. Other than that, the mixture of shrimp, mussels and vegetables tasted great. The soft rice was well blended with the rest of the ingredients. I had the pinot noir to drink and it was just alright. Not my favorite. It was too bitter for my taste. It was also quite pricey because it cost about $7/glass. During happy hour, however, it was about $4/glass. For dessert, my brothers and I got the dark chocolate fondue (always a good choice) for $10 and the butterscotch bread pudding for $7. The bread pudding was by far the best of all that we've eaten that evening. It was delicious & I would highly recommend it! Aside from the decent dinner, we were able to watch the Giants World Series game. It was a great place because it wasn't crowded. I didn't see any rowdy, drunk people and parking was really easy. I would definitely come back here to watch a game here with friends again.

This location is huge, but it's quite dated compared to the other locations. Parking is limited as well. I wasn't super hungry, but was surprised they didn't have the same items like the Campbell location (tator tot nachos anyone?) so I opted for a caesar salad. It was ready within a minute, and really sad for $7. My friend ordered a quarter chicken (white meat) with string beans and it took forever and a day. They're known to be "fast", yet, we waited for about 15 minutes and I told her that it was really odd. She went to check and finally got it, but they gave her a half chicken when she requested a quarter. Also, it had a bunch of dark meat, but the chicken was really good with the vinegarette sauce it was doused in. Overall, the place could do an update and should really cater to their customer's time by holding the quick and fast service they normally have.

    1) they were out of rotisserie chicken, WHAT!? 2) They don't take discover card 3) charge 25 cents for what they describe as "city tap water". This is cheesy, c'mon guys. Was really looking forward to trying this place for a long time, FAIL. Food wasn't terrible hence the two stars, although the fondue desert barely met my expectations.

Service- Lunch time service has always been good despite it being so busy. I can't say the same for a busy Friday night. We ordered the Friday night NY steak special. Our cashier told it would be 15-20min wait because of the steak. We waited 45 MINUTES! No one came to tell us why it was taking longer than expected or explained why we had such a long wait. All we kept hearing was "it's coming right up". It wasn't until we asked for a full refund did the manager apologize and offered us a $20 gift card. Bar-The bartender was awesome! He gets 5 stars! He was knowledgeable about his beer selection, especially local beers.

An actually healthy option at the airport that doesn't taste horrible! Woo hoo! :) Got a quarter chicken breast here with artichokes. Artichokes were bad, I don't recommend them, but the chicken was actually delicious. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a healthy option. Downside is it takes a little while to get food, so not a great choice if you're in a rush.

Very good 1st impression for me. Groupon friendly!! The workers there were really nice. One of the workers frequently came over to take empty dishes/utensils & trash from my table. Parmesan portobello mushrooms w/ pasta is SO worth ordering!! At 1st, the mushrooms looked like chicken patty's, because I was expecting the mushrooms to be cut in small pieces inside the pasta. Check out my pictures. I totally loved how they did it though & it was OH so yummy!!! My boyfriend had honey BBQ wings. I had a taste & it was also good. I'm glad my Cesar salad came with small pieces of chicken. That doesn't happen very often in a salad like that. I def recommend coming here in the weekends with your friends. They have a cute bar, but not sure if its a FULL bar. I came on a Monday, so it was more quiet, which I liked, because I wanted to observe my experience, so I could write my yelp review. I will def come with friends next time!

I think Kelly G. hit it on the head with this review. I won't go to this place alone. It isn't because the food is bad - it isn't by any means. And the portions are more than generous (especially if they add a slice of pizza on top of whatever you ordered). I've had solid meals here many times, and it is one of the best options for seafood in the area. The problem is the price. This place is at least twice as much as any other place in the area. You do get a huge, filling lunch, and in some cases you might have leftovers. But generally for lunch you want something quick and cheap and not something that will make you pass out in the unoccupied office. However if going with vendors, that's a whole other story. The place is huge, and it works well for lunch meetings or wanting something a bit better than a sandwich if coming off the airplane. There standard menu is expansive, and their daily specials are always tough to pick from - for example, today they have an $18.95 steak, which is a great deal (but again, I'm not dropping $19 on lunch). You order at the counter, so paying by yourself, or having a vendor treat you is easier than splitting a bill. Also great is this place has full bar, so after work or after a plane ride, this isn't a bad choice. Oh, this was also the place I realized that California doesn't do sweet tea, so I still have that subconscious negativity.

I love the previous motto of this palce. Inexpensive excellence...which describes it's plates of garlic calimari, half chickens covered I'm Coq au vi ...I'm grateful for the full bar and the resilience and enthusiam of the staff... I feel like more coupon options would lead to the sense of a better deal, more value, and more frequent visits...

If I could give zero stars, I would. Bar tender/server was so ridiculously rude we almost walked out. Food was awful, rubbery chicken, greasy artichokes... Not one positive thing to say about this place. Fast food would have been a better choice.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend. Very reasonably priced. Had the chicken Alfredo and was honestly the best ive ever had. The one man band was different but a great dinner music. Not slow but not dive bar-ish. Classy but not ritzy. Defenitley will go back if I'm ever in SJ again. Two thumbs up. Oh and the bartender was great. Busted out what I asked for perfectly!

The chicken is fine. The servers are disgusting - I watched them wipe their boxes, cough, and drop credit cards on the floor, all without washing hands (or card). The artichoke is repulsive and obviously made by someone who has never eaten an artichoke (it was covered in an odorous orange/flesh-colored sauce). My drink was over strong - almost apologetically so. The sauce (au vin) was unceremoniously dumped on top of part of the 1/4 chicken. Ew.

Stick to their chicken. I tried their French dip sandwich and it was the worst I'd ever had. The bread was burnt, the meat didn't taste fresh, and worst of all, the au jus was SALTY! As far as ambiance, this is a nice place to get some work done if you go during off hours. Last thing, they charge $0.25 cents for tap water.

Very very yummy. My sister had the chicken Alfredo and said it was the best she's ever had. I got the sirloin steak in a red wine sauce. My only concern was the asparagus could've been cooked longer. Still very very delicious.

Pretty tasty rotisserie chicken with sides that are ok. I wish the service was better as the few times I have been there the customer experience has been pretty bad. This should be easy to fix.

We came with a group of six for dinner amd ran uo a pretty good tab. The food...came out all dofferent times. One guy waited 20 minutes for his chicken. Seriously. The food was average so we are sorry we stayed. The Indian joint around the street would have been a better option I think.

I had a Paint Nite event here with my team. The food was surprisingly decent compared to what I had expected. They laid out a buffet style upstairs for the event. We had some kind of salad, chicken, and mushroom alfredo pasta with garlic bread. We also had a couple drinks at the bar and it was fun. The bartenders were friendly and there was live music at the time. It was an overall fun and smooth experience. The restaurant is located in a plaza with a really small lot to park for the amount of restaurants, but there is a free shared parking garage.

Now they have started to milk people for TAP Water. They want 25 CENTS for TAP water. Food was just OK always. But now charging for water takes it to another level.

I wouldn't call myself a fan of SCC but I did enjoy their pasta dish known as the Fisherman's Net. Stopped by today and couldn't find the dish in their menu because they renamed it to something more generic. Anyway, I ordered "generic pasta plate" (x2) and it totaled to $40 with two drinks included. Sad to say that it seems that along with renaming some items on the dinner menu their portions were scaled down. Normally that wouldn't be a biggie if the food was well worth it but alas, it was not. I could taste the fishyness in literally all the seafood, not a trace of flavor could be found! This place would have gotten 2 stars had they not garnished my pitiful pasta plate with a ridiculous purple flower! Gordon Ramsay would not agree with this...

I used to come here all the time for drinks. I've tried several dishes here but I got stuck on the Chicken Carbonara. Nothing else was memorable. I stopped coming here because I got food poisoning from uncooked chicken twice. The first time, I thought I was just the lighting that made the middle look pink, so I let it go. The second time, I was more careful and checked it before I took a bite. The middle was pinkish-red... CLEARLY UNDERCOOKED. I took it back to the kitchen and they didn't seem to care. They asked me what I wanted them to do. Uh.. cook it properly so I don't get sick!!

I was highly disappointed with my visit at this Sonoma Chicken Coop. I wanted my mother to enjoy her birthday dinner but instead we came to a restaurant who couldn't even fulfill a simple task. First their system broke down which caused a long line out the door & then I was extremely disappointed with my dessert that I was so looking forward to. When they gave me a dessert that was not the dessert I ordered, I sent it back and even after that they still didn't even try to fix it. A restaurant that I have enjoyed so many times is now at the bottom of my list due to this exact horrible service. I highly recommend not dining at the Sonoma Chicken Coop on Skyport.

We stopped in on a Saturday early before dinnertime so the place was pretty dead, which makes total sense because it's in a business centric part of town and accentuated by the fact this place is huge, like cavernous. The food was just ok. It didn't blow us away. It was kinda cafeteria style food, which I guess we should have expected from the cafeteria style of order and sit. Honestly my fiancée and I were there over a month ago so this review is a little late but I can't even remember what we ordered so that should say something. The staff was friendly enough, the bartenders were great but I don't think we'll be back.

The low rating has to do with the dish critically not matching the menu description. Ordered the Seafood Linguine. Menu lists Jumbo Sea Scallops. Not a single scallop, Jumbo or otherwise to be found. I find this surprising since one of the specials was Sea Scallops. I notice a theme of over promising, under delivering. The online picture accompanying Salmon Oscar is way more generous that the actual dish that showed up on the plate. The online specials pictures of all the dishes look way more generous that sample plates out front. I'd really like to go eat at the restaurant that serves the plates in the pictures, and you should too. This isn't it.

I'm not really a fan of the Coop. It's convenient for lunches with coworkers because it's close and everyone can pay separately. The food is expensive and it's just whatever. They do give large portions, but I mean for lunch, who wants to have that brick feeling in their stomach and then go back to work. I have a high standard for healthy food and I don't find their options very healthy. The best thing I go for is a 1/4 chicken and a side of roasted vegetables. Unless you get a cup of soup, plan on spending about $11. Service can be pretty slow too during the lunch hour

It's been awhile since I've been to this Sonoma Chicken Coop. Finally, I'm now writing a review. My cousins planned a graduation dinner for my niece here. It was great timing since it was happy hour. Our table was already prepared when I got there. Our party composed of approximately 18 people, with a mix of adults, teens, and toddlers/kids. My stomach was grumbling from not eating the whole day. Once I found my place at the table I was ready to order some food! With the help of a menu and pictures on my Yelp app, my ordering time was reduced greatly. I ended up ordering a half calamari appetizer and the beef and sausage spaghetti for the main course. Then I paid for my food and patiently waited with a pager in hand. The food prep was pretty quick. My pager buzzed within a ten to fifteen minute mark. I went to claim my food and returned my pager at the front counter. Everything I had looked so good that I couldn't wait to get back to the table. The calamari was a little crispy and chewy. I also had to squeeze a couple pieces of lemon to add the tartness to the appetizer. Next, I attacked my main course. The meats in this dish paired nicely with the soft spaghetti noodles. The meal was great and the dinner went smoothly.

Overall bad dining experience. The Chicken Picata I ordered had a Risotto texture similar to baby food. The Fries in another plate were limp and not crisp. The steak was wet and bland. The best items were probably the chicken and the fried prawns. Also, the bathroom seems like it wasn't cleaned in a long time, and one of the sinks didn't even have a handle!

They have a very nice location and a little on the pricy side. I like to order the harvest salad which is a good portion and has lots of strawberries. Also, I really enjoy the artichoke appetizer which is tasty. The downside is that the PA speaker that plays easy listening music intermittently cuts out. Also, the water is not filtered and has an odd taste. I wish both of those issues were remedied. Otherwise it's usually fast and a scenic place to relax on the patio.

BLAND!!! We ordered and paid at the counter, then found our seats. Setting: It's not the cleanest place, very casual. Food: I ordered the Special chicken pesto. Bland bland bland! Drown it in some tapatio! The chicken alfredo was not any better. Drown that in tapatio too! I think even Olive Garden would have been better.

What happened to their customer service here????? Management change? 1st, the cashier/waitress with the very curly hair was either having a really bad day or her customer service skills needs to be reviewed. I mean, really? No , "hello's, hi theres, how can I help you?" My husband and I came here to get their chicken carbonara meal and bread pudding so when I mentioned both in the same sentence she said,"Hold on just a sec..one at a time pls." Really? ok Secondly, the chicken carbonara usually comes with a side of bread but this time our plate didn't have it so my husband went back to ask if they still add it on the side. Marco, the bald guy that works behind the counter, snobbishly asked,''well, is that what you ordered?" IMPATIENT TONE. So my husband asked,''well does it come with it?"So Marco points to the plate sitting on the table BEHIND the counter, " is that it??" My husband says, "I guess?" Marco says, "here then". What??? no apologies, smiles? 1st of all, the chicken carbonara for the past year has been so bland. They cut back on the sauce so now we have to ask each time to make extra . Each time we've come back for the past year, the customer service has really been lacking. Come on guys. Chop chop. The only reason why I know the bald guys name behind the counter is because this is the second encounter with him we've had where he just shows lack of interest being there and gives off a really mean vibe. The first time was last year when I asked him where the ketchup was and he pointed to where it was instead of speaking and saying something. This time we asked for a manager before we left and the girl that went to get her came back to tell us to have a seat since she would be out in 5 minutes. We said never mind and just asked for the bald guys name and left. They've lost a customer that used to be a huge fan.

I have been to most almost all of their locations but somehow this one has the best quality food and service. I go here out of convenience a lot of the time as it is right next to Club One and I swear they are blasting the food scents through the vents into the gym. Then...the hunger pangs begin. The salads here are pretty good. I have tried the Citrus Grove, Apple Harvest, and the Cobb. All delicious and you can ask for the dressing on the side. The grilled salmon sandwich is pretty good and they give you a decent sized piece of fish. I also usually get the warm lemon vinaigrette chicken with either the green beans or grilled veggies. They give a good amount and variety of veggies. The chocolate fondue and the butterscotch bread pudding are yummy as well. The fondue comes with all the usual items like fruit, pound cake, crispy treats, cookies, marshmallows and some vanilla ice cream.

4.5 Stars I'm really sad I don't work down the block from this place anymore, because I definitely miss all the tasty choices Sonoma Chicken Coop has to offer. From the weekly specials to the normal menu, you can generally find something you will enjoy! Off the normal menu, I really liked getting the Half Chicken in the Coop Au Vin sauce. The sauce with this dish is AMAZING. It's comprised of red wine and is served with mini pearl onions that just burst with flavor with every bite. The sauce has a real robust flavor to it and it keeps me wanting more. The chicken is also tasty and isn't dry. If the chicken wasn't enough they let you select one side to come with your dish. Below are some of the items you can select from. I usually just order a side of vegetables to help balance out my meal, but I'm sure you can't go wrong with the other choices. Half Grilled Artichoke with Aioli Sauce Grilled Vegetables Steamed Green Beans Pasta Bolognese Pesto Pasta Pasta Marinara Herb Seasoned Rice Leeky Mashed Potatoes Seasoned Fries Cup of Soup House Salad For one of my recent meals, they were serving a German-style Pork Shoulder on the weekly rotation. The pork shoulder was rubbed with Sonoma's spices and fresh herbs and was then slow-roasted. The result was a soft and tender cut and was not overly dry. The natural gravy brought a lot of flavor to the pork too. On the side it came with cheddar cheese Mashed Potatoes and a Waldorf salad. There was nothing I didn't enjoy with this dish and everything was just plain good. I managed to clean out my plate with the quickness! A quick note for those coming to Sonoma Chicken Coop for the first time. You have to place your order near the front cashier. They'll give you a numbered pager and you'll have to pick up your order. If you want waiter service, feel free to sit at the bar area and you can place your food order there. If I'm around the area again, I'll make sure to stop by for an awesome meal. == A MUST TRY! ==

BIG portions and good price. Ordered the Friday special, $10.99 which consisted of a huge piece of chicken, some veggies and mashed potatoes. I recommend getting your sauce on the side. My friend got hers poured over her chicken plate and it was not as appetizing, super greasy and not as tasty. The ambiance is nice on a Friday night. They have a live band playing which draws in more crowds. Try to come before 6pm to beat the crowd~

Held a reception on the second floor for abour 100 people. Our guest really enjoyed the food and the restaurant. They were very accomodating. They set up extra tables when we needed them and were pretty attentive. They also set up a cake and gift table for us. Minus 1 star because they don't have an elevator for people in wheelchairs and strollers to go upstairs.

I didn't come here by choice and I knew I wasn't going to like it and I was right. There wasn't much that I wanted on the menu so I settled for a combo pizza. My bf got the lime chicken and a cup of the coup soup. The pizza was ehhh, and the crust was disappointing. Although the lime chicken had good seasoning, it was really dry. And there was no Dr. Pepper! Won't be back.

heard so much about Sonoma chicken coop. sounds like a place you'd find only in LA. not sure how to describe the decor, but it's a place where you order at the counter and then they give you a pager. the sisters and I had: *hot wings- not recommended for non spicy eaters. * calamari- pass on that *pesto pasta- YUM!! bit of cheese mixed in with pesto. I think this one came with a pizza sample. *artichoke- good *chicken with capers- delicious, but greasy *sliced baguette with pesto- good I'm not big in sweets, order the hockey puck dessert if you LOVE ganache!! fondue was delicious too. so overall minus the desserts, the food was around $40. everything to me was good, but not somewhere I'd go to very often. btw come early to find parking.

Take-out food at sit-down prices. Order your meal at the front, get a buzzer, and return to the front to get it. Food - I ordered the walnut chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing and my friends all ordered sandwiches. The salad was fine - white meat chicken, lots of lettuce, and some candied walnuts, but completely drowning in vinaigrette. Not a fan. The sandwiches were fine, but if you don't like heavy condiments, best to let them know up front. Ambiance - like an upscale Fresh Choice. Nicer cafeteria-like setting with padded chairs and carpeting. The people taking the orders were very polite. Location - I think everything in San Jose is like this - strip-mally. Parking - There was proprietary lot which was very full and limited street parking. The long and the short of it is that this is not fine dining, or even dive dining. It is somewhere in the middle. Mediocre food at higher-than-moderate pricing means this is a no-go for me in the future.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I called last night about ordering party trays and the employee that answered asked if I was able to come in the next day to go over prices. I asked if I could find out some prices now and he put me on hold for the manager. About 10 minutes later I am still on hold so I hang up. Ridiculous. Today, I went late afternoon to the actual location to talk to the manager on person since they had suggested it yesterday anyways. The girl in front goes to tell her manager we are waiting to discuss party trays and we wait for FOREVER. 1. There are barely any customers at 3pm. 2. Even the employee knew it was taking a long time. 3. I just saw employees chatting it up back there. For a manager to not have the courtesy to even come and explain the wait or say hello first is completely rude. They just lost themselves about more than $200. Never coming to this location again to eat or for party trays.

Im sad they didnt have Roast beef on the menu anymore, so I opted for the next closest thing, the tri tip steak. I wasnt bad, they give you a generous portion of steak, and like half the plate filled with fries, with one veggie on the side, yup thats right, one slice of yellow bell pepper. I like to balance meat and veggie ratio if possible, not saying it wasnt good, but they could reduce the amount of fries and add more vegetables.

We definitely had high expectations for this restaurant based on the reviews... the food is decent, but not delicious. We ordered a variety of items: chicken, french dip, and a pizza. The chicken was cooked well but smothered in bbq sauce without much flavor in the meat. The pizza tasted like chuck e cheese, and the french dip...it was probably one of the better items. Fondue..yep, we had to get the fondue desert...it was nothing spectacular. The restaurant is interesting, you wait in line for food like a fast food restaurant, find a table and wait for your buzzer to go off to pick up your food at the counter. Hmm.

Good, solid comfort food. We got ribs and steak, calamari, and fries. Their portions are huge here and I like how they have an upstairs section that is pretty quiet if you'd rather not sit downstairs with the large parties and TVs. Not food I'd want all the time, but not bad if you're craving something hearty. We used a groupon deal which saved a lot.

Wife and I went to Sanoma Chicken Coop for dinner about half way thru a employee asked how ae dinner was. Told him that mine was fine but the wifes was not good, he told us he would get someone. By the time I finished my meal and we had a desert no one had come out we left pissed off. I emailed to complaine was told they would look into it and get back to us nothing ever happened. My wife and I used to go there a couple of time a month never again.
